CoolSculpting is a great way to recontour your body without the hassles and discomforts that come with a surgical procedure. However, there are still some things you can do to ensure your noninvasive procedure is as comfortable as possible. Learn how you can get prepared leading up to your treatment day!
In the days before your CoolSculpting treatment, you’ll want to avoid any medications or supplements that can thin the blood such as fish oil, aspirin, and ibuprofen. Be aware of some blood-thinning herbal supplements too, like ginger and turmeric. Taking a blood-thinner prior to your treatment can increase bruising. You should also avoid smoking in the week before your procedure. Smoking can delay your healing process and increase the time it takes to see results.
CoolSculpting involves gentle suction and massaging of the treatment area. You will want to protect the skin from any cuts, bruising, or other injuries that could postpone your ability to have treatment. You should also avoid overexposure to the sun or use sunscreen. Tanning can make your skin more sensitive, causing some discomfort during treatment.
If you are in your ideal weight range, you will experience quicker, more effective results from your CoolSculpting treatment. If you’re not within your ideal weight range yet, a healthy diet and adequate exercise can help you get there! Forming these healthy habits before your treatment will also help you to maintain your CoolSculpting results.
On your CoolSculpting treatment day, you should leave the house in comfortable undergarments and loose-fitting clothes. You should also eat a light meal beforehand because the process can take a few hours. You might also bring a book, iPad or other source of entertainment to help pass the time while you have your treatment done.
