Before he was helping patients on Montana Avenue, Dr. Bharat Kothakota was managing the high-pressure intensity of the ER. Dr. K is a board-certified Emergency Medicine Physician who built his clinical foundation at Howard University during a grueling residency in the South Bronx. After moving to Los Angeles, he led teams as the Medical Director at Olympia Medical Center and the concierge ER, Sollis.
The move into medical aesthetics wasn't exactly a corporate pivot—It started at home. About four years ago, his wife asked him if he could do her Botox. She became his very first patient, and that one request changed the course of his career. Since then, he’s performed hundreds of procedures and spent countless hours perfecting the technical side of natural results.
Doctor K also holds a Master’s in Public Health and once spent a semester in Kenya working on a vaccination program. He brings that same level of medical oversight to every treatment plan at Self Care LA. For him, it’s about using serious clinical expertise to help you feel like the most capable version of yourself.
With over 15 years in the medical field, Allie keeps the clinic running, but her real impact is in the way she guides our patients. She is a Certified Wellness and Nutrition Coach who understands that true self-care happens both in the treatment room and at home.
